Feeling Nostalgic... a break from fashion... kindof...

This weekend was a time to reflect on a couple of things.. Its a bit hard to find the words to put every thing into perspective...
First of all, I was lucky enough to be able to share  a few days with the most beautiful princess the world has ever known. I don't remember the last time I enjoyed myself as much as I did this weekend.  I was on cloud nine sharing memorable moments with a princess that loves me and laughs at my jokes.  I was lucky enough to rock her to sleep, make silly faces in the bath tub, and tickle her until she just couldn't breath anymore...

In a world where I have not been lucky enough to have my own little Olivia, God has blessed me with a niece who loves me (and my shoes and purses) as much as I love her.

Secondly, my little guy... who I realized isn't so little anymore spent the weekend with my sister and his cousins for a little male bonding.  My sister survived 5 boys under the age of 12 who all want to be masters of the universe.  Bless her heart :)

What's my point... Well, in a moment where I found myself all too excited to see my little guy after a very long 4 days without him, the usual excitement where he runs up to me and is super excited to see me.... was gone.  As I stood there waiting for his reaction... I was broken hearted at the sight of a big boy who did not run up to me the he usually would screaming and coming in for a huge hug, but rather a more mature young man who saw me and said "hi mom"....
uugghh!!! Stab me in the heart!! Where is my little munchkin?? How could he have left me after just a few days?? As I composed myself, I realized that time flies and my baby was gone... Just like that... Gone.
After dinner tonight, in my desperate effort to connect with my boy, I sought him out.  No such luck.  As I got ready for bed... He came knocking on my bedroom door... gasp!! Looking for me!! My little baby came to see me one last time because he wanted to say goodnight... He may have also thrown in a simple I missed you in there too.  He returned a bright smile to my face and my heart.
